Welcome to Småland – a region full of tranquillity, nature and unexpected experiences! Our B&B is located in the charming village of Ryd, surrounded by forests, lakes and a rich history. Whether you are looking for adventure or relaxation, there is something here for everyone.
We are located right in the heart of the Åsnen area – and only 35 minutes from the coast, with both Blekinge and Skåne nearby. Let’s be honest: it’s a perfect place.
Nature
Explore Åsnen National Park
Just a short bike ride away lies Åsnen National Park – a paradise for nature lovers. Hike or cycle through untouched nature, look out for rare birds, or rent a canoe and discover the lake from the water. Anglers will also feel right at home here.
History

History and culture
Ryd has a rich history as a spa resort in the early 20th century. Many visitors came here to celebrate holidays and drink from the spring. Tourism contributed then – just as it does today – to the local economy, trade and community services. Many of the village’s beautiful houses were built during this period. Within walking distance you will find the unique open-air museum Bilkyrkogården Kyrkö Mosse, also known as “the car graveyard in the forest” – a mysterious place where nature is slowly taking over abandoned cars. Nearby you will also find charming villages and towns such as Karlshamn and Växjö, with markets, museums and Swedish crafts.
På gångavstånd finns det unika friluftsmuseet Kyrkö Mosse – ”bilkyrkogården i skogen” – en stämningsfull plats där naturen långsamt tar över gamla bilar. Runt omkring ligger mysiga byar och städer som Karlshamn och Växjö, med marknader, museer och svenskt hantverk.

Adventure and relaxation
The region offers hiking, cycling, paddling, fishing, swimming in crystal-clear lakes or a quiet picnic in the woods. Since the railway closed in the 1980s, two long cycle trails run right past us: the Banvallsleden and the national Sydostleden. Cycling really is a joy here.
In summer, there are often local events and markets. We are constantly discovering new places – and are happy to share them with you.

In and around Ryd, you can discover local flavours – from traditional Småland dishes to artisan products from nearby farms. And of course, you are warmly welcome at our own restaurant: à la carte with a reservation, bistro menu without one.
